‘Using Artificial Intelligence to Support Healthcare Decisions: A Guide for Society’ is a guide created through a partnership of Lloyd’s Register Foundation Institute for Public Understanding of Risk (a research institute at the National University of Singapore); the Korea Policy Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution; and Sense about Science. The guide was designed by Studio Giraffe.

OBJECTIVES
Equip patients, policymakers, journalists, clinicians and decision-makers with the necessary questions to ask about the use of AI in healthcare; thereby ensuring higher standards in using AI to guide healthcare decisions.
Ensure the guide looks professional, credible, and yet accessible; so it serves this wide audience.
SOLUTION
A combination of typography, icons, illustrations and imagery was used to present the guide.
While the base tone of dark purple conveys a serious and professional note; the quirky illustrations, sans-serif typeface and bright secondary colours provide a sense of approachability.
